Milotay followed with a tougher 4–6, 6–2, 6–4 comeback win after losing the opening set to a hard-hitting opponent who attacked early returns. Trailing 2–4 in the third, Milotay steadied with a service hold at love, broke back with a running forehand pass, and then won the final two games with high, looping groundstrokes that drew repeated errors. “I thought I had him,” said his opponent after the match. “But he stayed patient and made me play every point to the end.”
