Milotay captured the championship with a polished 6–3, 6–7 (6–8), 6–1 performance in which he rebounded instantly from a frustrating second-set miss. After failing to convert two match points in the tiebreak, the 16-year-old opened the third set by breaking twice with a series of sharp angled returns, then sprinted to the finish by winning five consecutive games. “A lot of players would have lost their composure there,” said coach Mercer. “He reset immediately.”
