The teenage champion was pushed harder in round two, but produced a measured 7–5, 3–6, 6–4 win after recovering from a mid-match dip in tempo. Milotay took the first set with a late break after a series of heavy topspin exchanges, lost the second as his opponent attacked the net more boldly, then regained control in the third by targeting the backhand corner and earning the decisive break at 4–4. “He found the right pattern late,” said organizer Drennan. “That was the difference.”
