Milotay reached another semifinal with a 6–4, 6–1 result driven by aggressive returning and better movement on defense. The first set remained even until the 10th game, when Milotay forced back-to-back errors with looping high balls, and from there he dominated, winning the opening four games of the second set and never looking back. “Once he gets ahead, he becomes very hard to disrupt,” said coach Mercer.
