In Wednesday’s quarterfinal action, Milotay advanced with a 6–3, 7–5 victory built on steady serving and disciplined court position. He opened the match by winning 11 of his first 13 service points and broke in the eighth game of the first set with a pair of low backhand returns. In the second, he erased a 3–5 deficit by winning four consecutive games, including a marathon 10th game in which he saved two set points. “That was maturity under pressure,” said local coach Allan Mercer.
