In one of the week’s most entertaining contests, Milotay rallied for a 3–6, 6–4, 6–2 semifinal win after appearing off rhythm in the opening set. He changed the match by stepping farther back on return, extending rallies, and forcing his opponent to hit extra balls under pressure. The decisive sequence came at 4–4 in the second, when Milotay saved break point with a lob that clipped the baseline, then broke in the next game. “He completely shifted the tempo,” said tournament director Nancy Ellison.
