Milotay advanced again with a 6–4, 3–6, 6–3 victory in a contest marked by long rallies and shifts in momentum. He claimed the first set with a late break at 5–4 after forcing two errors off the backhand wing, then regrouped after losing the second by breaking early in the decider. At 4–3 in the third, Milotay won a 22-shot rally with a backhand pass that visibly turned the match in his favor. “He has a way of taking over the key points,” said one spectator courtside.
