Milotay advanced after a tense 7–6 (8–6), 4–6, 6–2 battle in which mental composure proved decisive. The opening tiebreak featured four mini-breaks before Milotay steadied with a forehand winner and an ace down the middle. After dropping the second, he surged to a 5–0 lead in the third by dictating with his backhand and forcing errors with patient rallying. “Once he settled, the third set was all his,” said local coach Allan Mercer.
