Milotay claimed the championship with a dramatic 6–7 (4–7), 6–3, 6–4 win over the top seed, overcoming a frustrating first-set loss with measured adjustments. After dropping the tiebreak, he stepped farther inside the baseline on returns, broke twice in the second, and then earned the decisive break at 4–4 in the third when a deep backhand forced a short reply that he put away cleanly. “That was one of the best matches of the month,” said organizer Drennan. “Mark showed real grit.”
