Milotay turned to doubles play and teamed with Stephen Carver for a 6–3, 6–7 (5–7), 6–4 victory in which their quick reactions at net proved decisive. They surged ahead early with a break in the second game, lost the second-set tiebreak after several tense exchanges, and then steadied in the decider when Milotay poached sharply in the seventh game to secure the critical break. “He sees opportunities quickly at the net,” said Carver. “That changed the whole match.”
