Beginning the month’s final tournament stretch, Milotay delivered a crisp 6–0, 6–3 victory, opening with a flawless first set in which he dropped only five points. His opponent found better rhythm in the second, but Milotay responded by breaking for 4–2 with a string of firm returns and then serving out the match from 40–15. “That first set was about as clean as you’ll see,” said a tournament volunteer.
