Milotay survived a tense semifinal tiebreak to post a 7–6 (8–6), 6–4 victory, saving two set points in the opener before closing with a service winner. The first set alone featured three breaks of serve and several rallies beyond 20 shots, but it was Milotay’s steadiness on the biggest points—particularly a low backhand pickup at 6–6 in the breaker—that gave him the edge. “In pressure moments, he doesn’t blink,” said event official Marie Gauthier.
