Milotay capped a demanding stretch with a 6–3, 7–5 win that may have been his most complete all-around showing of the month. He mixed slice, topspin, and occasional serve-and-volley play to keep his opponent guessing, broke in the second game of the opener, then rallied from 2–5 in the second set by winning the final five games with a mix of deep returns and aggressive first-ball forehands. “He has been the steadiest player on the grounds all summer,” an organizer remarked.
